Identity and Culture

This body of work represents a group of proud and generous people who were willing to be photographed whilst selling their wares. They sell merchandise, some personally crafted and others manufactured. They could be any other group of people who sell products at a town market. Old crafts are dying out with the younger generations being exposed to formal schooling and education.

Most of the people attending and buying tend to be Gypsies and Travellers. Craft and Horse Fairs are a social arena for friends and families as well as being an important business venue.
